You need to add an environment variable:
This is how i did it on windows 7 and it will be the same for window 8 too.
- Click start button.
- Right click "Computer"
- Click "Properties"
- Click "Advanced System Settings"
- "Environment variables" in "Advanced" tab.
- Click the "New" button to create a new variable under user variables pane.
- Enter "HOME" in the name field
- Enter "%USERPROFILE%" or some other path in the value field. (HOME
should point to your home directory e.g. C:\Users\Tom. Ensure correct
case! E.g. "C:\users" instead of "C:\Users" may cause problems!)
- Click OK, and OK again. Hurray! You have just added the Home directory on Windows.
